Home to other furred friends, such as coyotes and foxes, this centre for rescue wolf dogs and hybrids began in 1993 when the owner, Darlene Kobobel, rescued a wolf-dog named Chinook in Lake George, Colorado.

In the first year of the CWWC’s operation, 15-20 calls were received each day with people trying to give up their wolf dogs. Generally, wolf dogs don’t live very long lives because people can’t or don’t know how to take care of them properly. Wolf dogs that are surrendered to animal shelters are usually put down.

The CWWC is now home to a pack of healthy and happy wolves including Kekoa and his sister Sakara. Watch the awesome moment when the two huge creatures hang out with Danielle wagging their tails and giving kisses.
