The Life Of Jim Carrey's Daughter

Jim Carrey is one of the most popular, beloved, and esteemed comedic actors of our time. He became a father in 1987, and his daughter has accompanied him on the red carpet throughout his career. Considering her red carpet experience, you probably wonder if she decided to continue in her father’s show business footsteps.

Jane Erin Carrey was born to Melissa Wormer and Jim Carrey, who were married in 1987 and got divorced in 1995. While Jane is not a comedian like her father, Jane is a talented singer who even auditioned for American Idol when she was 24 years old in front of Steven Tyler, J Lo, and Randy Jackson.

When Jane auditioned for American Idol, she said she wanted to ‘make her place in the world.’ At her audition, she made it through to the next round by singing ‘Let’s Give Them Something to Talk About.’ If you missed it, you should search for it on YouTube. It's awesome.

At her American Idol audition, she talked a little bit about what it is like to grow up with a celebrity father. She said, ‘It was definitely fun growing up with having him as a father; he’s not the most extravagant celebrity, so it was fairly normal growing up, fairly.’

‘It is difficult growing up in the shadow of something and trying to find your place in the world underneath this huge shadow,’ she continued. Jane seems to be very down to earth and has her head on straight. At the time of her audition, when she was 24, despite her father's wealth, she was working as a waitress.

Jane actually has a son of her own, making Jim a grandfather. She was married in November 2009 to Alex Santana, but unfortunately, they got divorced less than two years later. The little boy’s name is Jackson Riley Santana. When he was born, the proud grandfather tweeted ‘Jackson Riley Santana. My Grandson, born today! This is what 7 lbs.11oz of California dynamite looks like!’

They are obviously a close-knit family, and you can definitely see her dad’s genes in her megawatt smile; that is a Carrey staple. She actually wrote and performed a song for her Dad’s movie ‘Dumb and Dumber To’ which came out in 2014.
